    • Robert, 88 of Mexico, NY passed away on Tuesday January 25, 2022 at the Syracuse VA Hospital. He was born on July 20, 1933 to the late Robert S Halstead and Sarah E Reynolds.
      Robert served in the Navy on the UUSS Tarawa. He was then employed by General Electric and Miller Brewing Company for several years. He was a volunteer member of the original Pioneer Search and Rescue Team. He was a lifetime member of the Edick-Hamlink Mexico VFW Post #369. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mexico.
      Robert loved the outdoors, fishing, camping and hunting with his family.
      He was predeceased by his wife of 44 years Georgia Ann Spicer. Survived by 4 children Robert E (Ann) Halstead Jr; Arlen (Rayanne) Halstead; Holly (John) Brandh and Paula/Darla (Joe Veri) Halstead; 4 step-children, Michael (Renee) Dimon; James (Mary Ellen) Dimon; Stephen (Cheryl Tracz) Dimond and Martin Dimon; 17 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren, a sister Rut Mae Maloney; cousin Benjamin Holroyd and a niece Candy Carvey.
      Funeral Services were with Harter Funeral Home in Mexico. Graveside services will be in June at Pleasant Lawn Cemetery in Parish, NY.
      Mr Halstead was placed in the family plot on June 1, 2022
