Newspaper Obituary - Monday, October 15, 2007 Post-Standard - Syracuse, New York - August Abel - August Abel, 82, of Orwell, formerly of Liverpool and Eastwood, died Saturday at Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown. He attended school in Brooklyn, New York, and married Dorothy Stone on June 10, 1950. He served in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1952. He was employed by Carrier Corp. for 38 years, retiring in 1988. Surviving: his wife, Dorothy; two sons, August (Cheryl) Abel Jr. of Auburn and John Allen Abel of Syracuse; two daughters, Christine (Dale) Abel Delanater [sic] of Orwell and Marjorie (Robert) Spoto of Syracuse; and 11 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Orwell. Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the funeral service.
