    • William Farmer Dies at His Home

      William Henry Farmer, 82, resident of the Ridge Road south of Lacona for many years, died April 29, 1955 at his home after an illness of several months.

      Born December 20, 1872 in Mexico, he was the son of the late Henry and Sarah Meshurel Farmer. He was married on November 17, 1925 at Tahert to Miss Doris James of Mannsville.

      Mr. Farmer was formerly employed on the New York Central Railroad and on the Barge Canal and for many years was an employee of the Town of Sandy Creek.

      Surviving with his wife are five daughters, Mrs. Allen (Fraurces) Van Camp of Richland; Mrs. Percy (Sarah) Horseman of Syracuse; Mrs. James (Florence) Williams of Clayton; Miss Bertha Farmer and Miss Rose Farmer of Lacona,. and two sons, George and Ralph of Lacona.

      The funeral was held Monday afternoon at 2 at the Weston & Woodard funeral home, the Rev. Leland Webster, pastor of Sandy Creek Methodist church, officiating. Burial was in Wesleyan cemetery east of Lacona.
