SANDY CREEK
Jeffrey A. Manwaring, 64, of Sandy Creek, formerly of Hamilton, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse. He was born on January 15, 1959, in Oswego to the late Arnold and Rosina (Hotelling) Manwaring. Jeffrey was a high school graduate of Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central Schools, he continued his education at Onondaga Community College, Murray State University, and SUNY Oswego where he received his master’s degree in education. On October 16, 1993, Jeffrey married Kristen Charles in Pulaski, she predeceased him on April 15, 2022. He was an educator of over 35 years, working in many districts including Caruthersville Central Schools, Hamilton Central School, Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central School, Pulaski High School, and Sherburne-Earlville Central Schools where he spent 18 years as a music instructor, until his retirement. Jeffrey was large part of the S-E music department, serving as director of the marching band and a Coordinator for the Pageant of Bands for 18 years. He enjoyed woodworking, spending time watching the horse races at Vernon Downs, and was a devoted fan of his alma mater, Murray State University, basketball team. He is survived by his sons, Tyler Manwaring, (Ally Colp) of Whitesboro, Colin Manwaring, (fiancé, Megan Hart) of Syracuse; sisters, Avis (James) Peterson, of Central Square, Cynthia (Keon) Wild, of Pennellville, Dorothy (Richard) Beck, of Mexico; brother, Lyle (Lisa) Manwaring, of Mexico; sister-in-law, Wendy Fisher, of Hamilton; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and canine companions, Reggie and Sadie.
Friends and family are invited to call on Saturday, November 25, from 11am - 2 pm at Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 25 Broad St. Hamilton. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
