- David R. Webb, of Pulaski passed away on December 20, just days before his 94th birthday. Dave worked for General Electric in Liverpool for 33 years, where he was Facilities Manager at the Electronics Laboratory, before becoming Plant Manager at Eagle Comtronics, retiring in 1994. He seemed able to master everything he touched. He was an accomplished restorer of antique boats, cars, tractors, radios and other vintage equipment. He spent 16 years painstakingly restoring a 1947 ChrisCraft mahogany boat which he aptly named “Labor of Love.” Together with his son Steve, he built a beautiful home in the hamlet of Fernwood as a gift to his wife. Years earlier he had built a camp on Lake Bonaparte with other family members and loved spending time at the lake. For many years his maple syrup operation each Spring drew friends and neighbors to his rural “sugar house.” He was a member of the Radio AeroModelers model airplane club, was a licensed amateur radio operator, and was an avid beekeeper. He was active in civic affairs, having served on the Pulaski school board and, until recently, on the Town of Richland Board of Assessment Review. He was proud to have been named an Honorary Alumnus of the SUNY ESF Ranger School in Wanakena, NY. He attended Calvary Baptist Church in Pulaski.
Survivors include Connie Steward Webb, his wife of 42 years, sons Steven Webb and James Webb, daughter Carol Webb, grandchildren Justina Webb, Jessica (Chris) Carr, Tabatha (Paul) Smith, Christopher Webb, Robert Webb, James Webb, Jacob Webb and Daniel Peterson, great-grandchildren Damian Oliver and Kyra Smith, sisters Shirley Bellows, Marilyn Halsey, and Joyce Miller, sister-in-law Penny (David Martin) Steward, brother-in-law Steve (Susan) Steward, sister-in-law Joanne Steward, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son David W. Webb, brothers Donald Webb and Jerry Webb, and his parents Lewis and Ella Webb.
The family would like to extend its special thanks to cardiologist Dr. William Berkery for his uncommon caring and devotion to his patients and to the staff at The Cottages in Cicero for their excellent care.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Ranger School, c/o SUNY ESF College Foundation, P. O. Box 6486, Syracuse, NY 13217.
