    • Thomas Johnson Obituary
Thomas L. Johnson, age 65, passed away Tuesday, December 13th at home. Tom was born July 8, 1958, in Oswego, NY, the son of the late Paul Johnson and Shirley Novak Johnson. Tom graduated from Pulaski High School in 1975.

Tom was a very quiet, kind, and gentle soul. He moved to Virginia Beach, VA in the early 1980s and resided there with family until his death. He was employed by a large Naval housing complex on the maintenance staff for many years. He remained active in more recent years as a painter on many construction projects at his church and as a delivery driver for Papa John’s Pizza.

Tom was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all his heart. He attended the Wave Church of Virginia Beach, where he was a volunteer for over 13 years. He read his bible every morning, loved playing his guitar, walking in the park, praying, and watching boats come and go on the Atlantic Ocean from Rudee Inlet. He used to tell the corniest jokes, but they were funny and entertaining because he thought they were funny and entertaining.

Surviving are his mother, Shirley Johnson of Pulaski, two sisters, Paula Johnson of Pulaski and Teresa (Charles) Austin of Virginia Beach, VA, and four nieces and nephews, Pauline (Zach) Dotson, Stacey (Shawn) Clark, Sarah Ward, and EJ Ward. Tom was predeceased by his father, Paul Johnson.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, December 22nd at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski with burial in Pulaski Cemetery following the service. A calling hour will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the funeral.
