- Charles "Jim" "Quack" Quackenbush, Jr. Obituary
Charles "Jim" "Quack" Quackenbush Jr. resident of Pulaski, passed away unexpectedly Thursday at his home. Jim was born May 3, 1956, in Oswego, the first son of Charles "Jim" Quackenbush Sr. and Betty Ann Whaley. Jim attended Pulaski High School until 1973 when he joined the Air Force in liua of graduating. While on leave in 1974, he met the love of his life, Marilyn Karle, who then became his wife on May 13, 1977. He was a member of the Roofers Union #195 in Syracuse for over 35 years, doing multiple side jobs over the years, including one of his passions fishing. He was a fishing guide on the Salmon River for many years. Outside of being a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, he enjoyed hanging out with his friends playing Dungeons and Dragons and other online games up until his passing.
Surviving, are his wife of 48-years Marilyn of Pulaski, daughters, Mary (John) McMahon of Pulaski, Beth (Michael) Stevens of Pulaski, Sherry Quackenbush of Oswego and Angela Quackenbush of Pulaski, 13 grandchildren John Jr., Mickayla, Christopher, Mariska (Mary), Simoriah, Tayler, Kage, Peytyn (Beth), Zoey, Dante (Sherry), Cierra, Dakota, Kaelie (Angela), 11 great-grandchildren with one more on the way. Two brothers Donald Quackenbush of Mexico and Dana Quackenbush of Pulaski, his stepfather, Micky McConnell of Florida, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Friday, November 7th at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski with burial in South Richland Cemetery in Fernwood. Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the funeral home prior to the funeral.
