[Note: Joseph Newman died September 26, 1952 in DeKalb Junction, New York and is buried in Maple Grove Cemetery at Richville, New York.]
      Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, April 5, 1956 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Rites Held for Former Resident - Services for Mrs. Mary Service Newman, 75, widow of Joseph Newman, who died Friday at the Gillette Nursing Home in DeKalb Junction, were held at the Foster Funeral Home Monday at 2 p.m. The Rev. W. Russell Clark, pastor of the Methodist Church officiated. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery. She is survived only by her brother, John Service of DeKalb Junction and several cousins. Mr. Newman died three years ago. Mrs. Newman was born August 30, 1880 in the Town of Albion, the daughter of Frederick and Charlotte French Service. She attended Pulaski Academy and taught in rural schools for several years before her marriage to Mr. Newman. After her marriage she lived in Richville and DeKalb Junction. She was a member of the DeKalb Junction Methodist Church.
