Charles J. "Jim" Quackenbush, 70, of 259 County Route 13, died Tuesday at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Syracuse.
Mr. Quackenbush was a retired construction worker.
Born Feb. 20, 1933, in the town of Boylston, son of Bernard and Anna Marie Menard Quackenbush, he graduated from Pulaski High School. A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the Army from 1950 to 1953.
He married Betty Anne Whaley on June 13, 1955, at the Pulaski Methodist Church. The marriage ended in divorce.
His companion of many years, Grace Cole, died Dec. 22, 2001.
Surviving are three sons, Donald, Dana and Charles "Jim" Jr., all of Pulaski; a brother, Bernard, Michigan; two sisters, Leola Hellinger, Mexico, and Cecelia Collins, Pulaski; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A brother, Wesley, died before him.
The funeral will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek, with the Rev. Brian Snyder, pastor of Boylston- Wesleyan Church, officiating. Spring burial will be in Greenboro Cemetery, Redfield.
Calling hours will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
