- Pauline S. Snyder, 97, of Boonville and formerly of Osceola, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2014 at Sunset Nursing Home in Boonville. She was born September 3, 1917 in Orwell, NY, the daughter of Ralph and Chloe Philips Blount. She was a graduate of Sandy Creek High School, received a Bachelor’s Degree from Cornell University and a Master Degree from SUNY-Oswego. On June 4, 1938 she married Charles Snyder.
Pauline was a school principle at Gansevoort and Fort Stanwix with the Rome City School District for several years, retiring in 1975.
She was a member of the Osceola Congregational Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She is survived by: two daughters, Phyllis Wheaton, of Glen Rocks, PA, and Patricia Waterman, of North Carolina; one son, Charles (Kathleen) Snyder, of Osceola; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, eleven great-great-grandchildren, and two great-great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles; a sister, Anne Vexter; two brothers, Lynn and Richard Blount; and a granddaughter, Heather Panic.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 7pm at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome. Interment will take place in Maple Lawn Cemetery in Dugway, NY. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday prior to the service from 5-7pm.
