- Newspaper Obituary - August 31, 1983 Sandy Creek News - Mrs. Madeline L. Ridgeway, 60, of Syracuse, formerly of Sandy Creek died August 25, 1983 at Upstate Medical Center after a long illness. She was born January 25, 1923 in Sandy Creek, a daughter of H. Lee and Eliza Stewart Weaver. She was educated in Sandy Creek schools. Her marriage to the late Lyle E. Ridgeway ended in divorce. She had lived in Syracuse for the past thirty years. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Marie Dempster, Syracuse; Mrs. Linda Moore, Jordon; Mrs. Juanita Gentner, Auburn and Mrs. Yolanda Counterman, Syracuse; her father, H. Lee Weaver, Sandy Creek; five sisters, Mrs. Marjorie Bailey, Cape Vincent; Mrs. Helen Adams, Liverpool; Mrs. Evelyn Morton, Mexico; Mrs. Betty Kimball, Sandy Creek and Mrs. Constance Sweeney, Erie, Pennsylvania; two brothers, Malcolm Weaver, Orlando, Florida and Robert Weaver, Maple View, as well as fourteen grandchildren. The funeral was held at the Summerville Funeral Home, Saturday with Rev. James Durham, pastor of the Delaware Baptist Church officiating. Burial was in Wesleyan Cemetery, Lacona.
