      Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, June 12, 1940 Ogdensburg Journal - Osgdensburg, New York - Mrs. Barber's Funeral Held - DeKald Junction ¬The death of Mrs. Clara Barber, 69, occurred Thursday night at the home of her sister, Mrs. Joseph Newman, with whom she resided, the result of a shock, with which she was stricken Sunday night. A prayer service was held at the home at 9 o'clock Sunday morning and she was taken by Mortician CharlesKentfield to Pulaski where funeral services were held at the Hunter Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Rev. Frank J. Brown, local Methodist pastor officiated, and interment was made in Riverside Cemetery. Mrs. Barber was born May 12, 1871 at Pulaski, a daughter of Frederick and Charlotte French Service. About 46 years ago she married Dustin Barber of Altmar. His death occurred January 20, 1920. Mrs. Barber recently came to this village to reside and had formed very few acquaintances as yet. Sympathy goes out to her sister, Mrs. Newman, and brother, John Service, by whom she is survived, with an aunt, Mrs. Nellie Boyd of Mexico. Mr. and Mrs. Newman, John Service and Rev. M. Brown accompanied the remains to Pulaski.
