Notes - Betty Brush, age 78, resident of Mexico, passed away November 7th at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse, NY. She was born and raised in Pulaski, NY to the late George and Marie Scott. She graduated from Pulaski Academy and Central School and went on to attend Central Technical Institute in Hartford Connecticut. In 1960 she married David Jay Smith who predeceased her and had 2 children, Stefanie Smith Brietzke and Jay (Michele) Smith. For many years Betty was a stay at home mother before entering the banking industry and retiring from Key Bank in 1998. In 1991, she married Edwin Brush who survives her. Together they enjoyed taking cruises and socializing with friends at the Elks Lodge.
She is survived by her husband Edwin Brush, children Stefanie Smith Brietzke, Jay (Michele) Smith, Ed (Cindy) Brush, grandchildren Christopher, Maddison, Abigayle and Carter Brietzke and the apple of her eye, great-granddaughter, Mia Brietzke, her brother Ed (Jean) Scott, nephew Michael Scott and niece Kelly Labozzetta. She is predeceased by her brother Donald (Bev) Scott.
