Cecellia Anna (Quackenbush) Collins, 79, of the Springbrook Apt.'s in Pulaski, NY, died Monday, Sept. 27, 2010 at the Samaritan Keep Nursing Home, Watertown, NY.
There will be a burial service at Woodlawn Cemetery, Sandy Creek, NY at 11:30 a.m. on Sat. November 27, 2010 followed by lunch for family and friends at noon at the American Legion in Pulaski, NY.
Cecellia is survived by her daughter Ann Marie Sulllivan and son-in-law James of York, PA; her son John Collins of Pulaski; her grandchildren: Donald Lyng, Erin (Gibbs) Seyer, Kathleen Sullivan, Amanda and Kasey Collins; great grandchildren Bridget Drury, Kadyn and Adara Seyer, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her 1st cousins Vivian (Quackenbush) Holman and June (Quackenbush) Richie.
She was predeceased by her husband Johnnie Collins, Jr. (1976), her sisters Ruby (Riqqy) Pasko 2000, Leola Hellinger (2008), and brothers Goldie 2001, Bernard 2007, Wesley (Bill) 2002, Charles (Jimmy) 2003, and Henry (Corkie) 1996.
She was born on Mar. 9, 1931 in Champion, NY to the late Marie Anna (Menard) and Bernard F. Quackenbush. Cecellia was graduated from Pulaski High School and, after clerical training in Rochester, NY, she served in the US Air Force 1952 - 1955. Honorably discharged, she married and lived in different locations. She settled with her family in the early sixties in the Pulaski area and worked different jobs. She retired 1991 from her clerical position with the federal General Services Administration in Syracuse after over 10 yrs. service. She was active for many years in the Pulaski American Legion, and donations in lieu of flowers may be sent there.
