      Leon W. Harrington, 90, of Constantia, passed away Friday, Dec. 7, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Oct. 9, 1922, in Constantia, a son of Frank and Anna Mae Taber Harrington. Leon served with the U.S. Army from 1941-1943. On January 18, 1947, he married the former Emily Reynolds in Gouverneur, NY. She passed away April 2, 2011.

      Mr. Harrington retired in 1977 as a fish and wildlife technician with the NYS DEC. He was a member of Scriba Lodge #414, a life member of the Trach-Auringer VFW Post #7325, Constantia, NY, and NYS Trappers Assoc. Leon enjoyed hunting, trapping and fishing and was an avid gardener, especially proud of his potato harvest.

      It was his family whom he loved the most. Surviving are three daughters, Nancy and Lyle Borland, Suzette and James Delamater of West Monroe and Anna May and Ronald Chapman of Constantia, two sons, James and Sandy and George and Barbara Harrington of Constantia; his beloved 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by a grandson, James Harrington II in 1999; two sisters; and five brothers.

      Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday from Watson Funeral Home, Central Square, NY. Interment: Constantia Rural Cemetery.

      Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 631 S. Main Street, with Masonic services to be held at 7 p.m.
