- Joyce K. Guyette Obituary
Joyce K. Guyette, age 94, resident of Adams, formerly of Lacona, passed away Saturday at Summitt Villages in Watertown. Joyce was born December 7, 1929, in Orwell, the daughter of Emil and Kathleen Gibbs Weisenburger. She graduated from Sandy Creek High School in 1948. Joyce was married to her husband of 42 years, Paul Guyette on August 8, 1948, and he passed away May 20, 1991. She was employed by Empsall’s Department Store in Watertown for 25 years, retiring in 1993.
Surviving are one son, Kirk (Lee) Guyette of Pulaski, two daughters, Sandra Hughs of Bluffton, SC and Sherry (Ray) Batson of East Philadelphia, PA, a sister, Karen Bacon of Casa Grande, AZ, grandchildren, Christopher J. Hughs and Julia Hughs Rolando, great-granddaughter, Piper Rolando, two nephews, E. Frederick Weisenburger and Robert Bacon and two nieces, Debi Weisenburger Johnson and Bridgette Bacon Perea. Joyce was predeceased by her brother Walter Weisenburger in 1969, daughter Colleen Guyette in 2005 and great-granddaughter, Phoebe Rolando in 2012.
A graveside service be held, at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 18th, at South Richland Cemetery, Fernwood. Services in care of Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joyce’s memory to the Upstate NY American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023 Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.
