Cora "Maxine" Smith, 86, Route 193, died Thursday evening at Loretto Heights Nursing Home, Oswego.
Mrs. Smith had worked for many years for Henry's Jewelers, Watertown, retiring in 1982.
Born Aug. 26, 1915, in Lacona, daughter of Ralph and Leah Wade Polson, she graduated from Mannsville Central School in 1934.
She married Winford J. Smith on Oct. 16, 1934, in Adams. The couple operated a dairy farm for 56 years. He died April 5, 1983.
She had resided in Pierrepont Manor for 75 years, moving to Pulaski in 1991 and then to the nursing home.
She was a member of Zion Episcopal Church.
Surviving are two sons, Bradley W. Smith, Pierrepont Manor, and David J. Smith, Renshaw Bay; a daughter, Inga Jean Scott, Pulaski and Hilton Head, S.C., six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
A spring graveside service will be in Ellisburg Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
Arrangements are with Foster- Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski.
