George H. Wallis February 24, 2016 George H. Wallis, 78 of Hastings died Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse. He was born in Fernwood, the son of the late Samuel and Olive Twiss Wallis. He was the owner and operator of Wallis Logging of Hastings. George was a hard working family man. He was predeceased by his lifetime companion, Shirley Gates in 2010; his sister, Marge Haynes and his brother, Wayne Wallis. George is survived by his daughter, Tracey (Andrew) Fisch of Hastings; his son, Torey (Jill) Wallis of Brewerton; four grandchildren, Brittany (Marc), Nicole, Quinn and Austin; one great-grandchild, Lucas; a brother, Alton "Dicky" Wallis of Sandy Pond; and his two sisters, Viola Skotniski of Oswego and Myrtle Winklestein of Mexico. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday from the Harter Funeral Home, 2983 W. Main St., Parish. Spring Burial will be in the Vermillion Cemetery.
