Suzanne J. Broussard, 53, of 73 Main St., died at 1:50 p.m. Friday at her home. Mrs. Broussard had been ill with respiratory problems.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. The body will be cremated. Arrangements are with Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Theresa.
Surviving are a son, Francis III, Philadelphia; a daughter, Julie Newton, Philadelphia; five grandchildren; her mother, Gloria LaFex Thompson, Phoenix City, Ala.; a sister, Mrs. Daniel (Sharon) Armstrong, Brownville; three brothers, James Holmes, Mobile, Ala., and David and Ronald Oswalt, both of Phoenix City; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A son, Robert, was killed in a motorcycle accident in 1983.
Born May 23, 1941, in Watertown, daughter of Robert and Gloria LaFex, she was raised by her grandmother, the late Katherine LaFex.
She was a 1958 graduate of Watertown High School and resided in Louisiana for 10 years. After returning to Northern New York, she was a nurse's aide in the skilled-nursing unit of Edward John Noble Hospital, Alexandria Bay. She retired several years ago due to ill health.
