      Newspaper Obituary - December 17, 1970 Sandy Creek News - Cyrus D. Stewart, 64, formerly of Sandy Creek, died Monday morning, Dec. 14. 1970 at his home in Pulaski. Born May 7, 1906 at Sandy Creek, he was the son of Milton and Maude Kinsman Stewart. He attended school in Sandy Creek and was employed by the Town of Sandy Creek Highway Department, retiring in 1955 because of illness. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Cathleen Smith Stewart; three sons, Milton of Richland, Charles of Sandy Creek and Spec. 4c Larry Stewart of the U.S. Army, now stationed at Miami, Fla. He leaves three daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Sandra) Althouse of Higinsville; Mrs. Donald (Elsie) Trey of Constantia and Mrs. Rodney (Linda) Murtaugh of Sandy Creeks He leaves 11 grandchildren. Mr. Stewart is also survived by seven brothers; Dexter, Fred, Burt, Harwood, Harold and James Stewart of Sandy Creek and George Stewart of Adams Four sisters survive, they are Mrs. Eliza Weaver, Mexico, Mrs. Eva Sampson, Mannsville; Mrs. Bertha Mover, Sandy Pond; Mrs. Ethel Green of Salem. The funeral was held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Foster Hax Funeral home. It was conducted by the Rev. Martin J. Ayer, pastor of Pulaski Wesleyjan church. Spring burial will be in Richland Cemetery.

      Newspaper Obituary - Monday, December 14, 1970 Palladium Times - Cyrus D. Stewart, 64, of 7481 Salina St., Pulaski, died this morning at his home following a long illness. He was born May 7, 1906 in the Town of Sandy Creek, the son of Milton and Myrtle Kinsman Stewart. He attended Town of Sandy Creek schools and had moved to Pulaski three months ago from Page Road. He was formerly employed by the Town of Sandy Creek Highway Dept., but had retired in 1955 because of ill health. Surviving are his wife, Cathleen Smith Stewart; three sons, Milton of Richland, Charles of Sandy Creek and Specialist 4th Class Larry Stewart of the U.S. Army, Miami, Fla.; three daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Sandra) Althouse of Higginsville, Mrs. Donald (Elsie) Trey of Constantia and Mrs. Rodney (Linda) Murtaugh of Sandy Creek; 11 grandchildren; seven brothers, Dexter, Fred, Burt, Harwood, Harold and James, all of Sandy Creek, and George of Adams; four sisters, Mrs. Eliza Weaver of Mexico, Mrs. Eva Sampson of Mannsville, Mrs. Bertha Moyer of Sandy Pond and Mrs. Ethel Green of Salem. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Foster Hax Funeral Home in Pulaski, the Rev. Martin Ayer officiating. Burial will be in the spring at Richland Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

      Cause of Death: Arteriosclerotic heart disease.
