- Violette Mae "Butch" Morin Obituary
Violette, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, May 26, 2024. She was at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse, NY and passed peacefully with her family by her side. She was 82 years old and had been living in Lacona at her eldest son’s home.
Violette was born December 30, 1941, to Parker and Carrie (Van Severn) Potter, in Rome, NY. After the breakup of the marriage, Violette was adopted by her aunt and uncle, George and Violette Potter Plummer of Altmar, NY. Her new life in Altmar, with her adopted parents was a happy one. She enjoyed may trips to Redfield to spend time at Plummer’s camp near the Mad River. She attended APW Schools. In her early years she received the nickname “Butch” and she began to enjoy her favorite drink, Pepsi, and both stayed with her the rest of her life.
In 1960, Violette was married to Ernie Stevens and gave birth and raised, George, Ronald and Terri Stevens. After that marriage ended, Violette married Gary Radley, together they had two children Jeanine and Sean Radley.
Violette’s work career included waitressing at different restaurants in the area and was a cashier at local stores. She also worked for ICM Controls Corporation assembling circuit boards.
Violette is survived by her five children, George and Michele Stevens, Ron and Kim Stevens, Terri and Fred Vidler, Jeanine Manchester and Sean Radley, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Violette was predeceased by her adopted parents, George Plummer in 1984 and Violette Plummer in 1986.
A celebration of life for Violette Morin will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, June 22nd at the Mad River Club, 941 County Route 15, Lacona. Services are in care of Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski.
