Dale L. Smith, 26, Potter Road, serving with the Navy in Long Beach, Calif., died Monday in an automobile accident in Los Angeles, Calif.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski, with the Rev. Elizabeth Mowry, pastor of Park United Methodist Church, Pulaski, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Surviving are a daughter, Alexa Lynn Smith, Long Beach, Calif.; his father and stepmother, Terry and Lori Smith, Orwell; his mother and stepfather, Marcella and Dallas Paterson, Oswego; two brothers, Scott, Orwell, and Jamie, Pulaski; a sister, Heather Paterson, Oswego; his paternal grandfather, Lawrence Smith, Orwell; his maternal grandmother, Joyce Bordol, Oswego, and aunts and uncles.
Born Nov. 1, 1966, in Watertown, a son of Terry and Marcella Gillon Smith, he graduated from Sandy Creek Central School in 1986.
Mr. Smith enlisted in the Navy in 1988. He was serving aboard the USS Peleliu, homeported in Long Beach, as a boiler technician.

Dale Smith, 26, formerly of Potter Road, died Monday from injuries he suffered in an automobile accident in Los Angeles.
Mr. Smith resided in Orwell until 1988, when he enlisted in the Navy. He was serving as a boiler technician aboard the U.S.S. Peleliu. He was a 1986 graduate of Sandy Creek High School.
Surviving are a daughter, Alexa Lynn Smith of Long Beach, Calif.; his father and stepmother, Terry and Lori Smith of Orwell; his mother and stepfather, Marcella and Dallas Paterson of Oswego; two brothers, Scott of Orwell and Jamie of Pulaski; a sister, Heather Paterson of Oswego; his paternal grandfather, Lawrence Smith of Orwell; and his maternal grandmother, Joyce Bordol of Oswego.
