      NEW HAVEN

      James W. Martin, 56, of New Haven, died Friday, June 19, 2009 at his home after a short illness.

      He was born in Sandy Creek to William Martin of Hastings, and the late Reta Brennan.

      Mr. Martin was past employed with Feldman's as a handyman and Crouse Hines. He loved fishing, camping, gardening and animals.

      He was predeceased by his sister Cathy Martin.

      Mr. Martin is survived by his wife of 10 years, Barb Martin of New Haven; three daughters, Bobbi Jo Martin of Watertown, Jessica Martin of Syracuse, Ashley Armstrong of Utica; three sons, Jacob Martin and Owen Drought both of Syracuse, Elvis Armstrong of Camp LeJeune, N.C.; 11 siblings, Sally Parker of Mexico, Linda Harten of Fulton, Marie Martin of Hastings, Tina Sobotka of Maple View, William Martin of Pulaski, Robert Martin of Mannsville, Rick Martin of Scriba, David Martin of Pennellville, Clarence Martin of Granby, Michael Deforge of Clay and Joe Deforge of Oswego; three grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

      Memorial services will be held 6 p.m., June 25, at Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. Second St. South, Fulton with the Rev. David Nethercott officiating.

      Burial will be private.

      Calling hours will be held from 4-6 p.m., June 25at the funeral home.
