Notes - Online Obituary - Charles D Stewart - August 4, 1944 ~ October 20, 2023 (age 79) - Charles D Stewart, 79 of Pulaski passed away Friday October 20, 2023 at The VA Hospital in Syracuse, NY where he had battled Lewy Body Dementia. Charles was born August 4, 1944 in Sandy Creek, NY to Cyrus and Cathleen (Smith) Stewart. He attended Sandy Creek Schools. Charles was working at Mattydale Body Shop when he was drafted into the United States Army in July of 1965 and served until February 1966. After his service he worked for Spector Cadillac, Bill Rapp and later owned and operated Pulaski Body Shop for 30 years. He then worked at 10 The Perfect Body Shop in West Monroe for another 16 years. Charles married Jeannette Horr July 10, 1971 in Central Square. He was a member and past Commander at the Pulaski American Legion Post 358 in Pulaski and was a member of the Mad River Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing bowling and golf. Calling Hours will be Wednesday October 25th from 12-2pm with the Funeral to follow at 2pm at Summerville Funeral Home. Burial will be in Richland Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held after the burial at Half Shire Historical Society. Surviving is his wife of 52 years Jeannette, his children Michael (Patty) Stewart, Kevin Stewart (Whitney), Tammy Stewart (Rob), Julie Stewart (Derrick); 5 grandchildren, Austin Monson, Audrey Monson, Sarah Stewart, Jonathon Warren, Gage Sanderson; 2 sisters Elsie Trey and Linda Sperling. He was predeceased by his parents, a sister Sandy Althouse and brothers Milton Stewart and Larry Stewart. Donation may be in his honor to Half Shire Historical Society or Pulaski American Legion.
