Obituary - The community was shocked to hear of the sudden death of Mrs. Elizabeth Land of Linden Place on Monday. She was the widow of the late Law Land, who passed away four years ago this month. She was seventy-two years of age and was a woman of sterling Christian character. Up to the past year she had been president of the Ladies Aid Society of the Smithtown Methodist Church and took a very active part in church affairs. She is survived by eight children and twenty-one grandchildren. Her children include four sons, Percy, Clarence, Joseph and Norman, all of this place and four daughters, Mrs. Adelaide Mosely, Mrs. Ethel Courier, Mrs. Ruth Wiedenkeller, all residing here and Mrs. Edna Wiedenkeller of Honolulu, Hawaii. The funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Hauppauge Cemetery and interment followed in the church cemetery.
