    • Helen M. Cowan, age, 81, resident of Pulaski, formerly of the Williamstown and Altmar area, passed away Friday at her daughter’s home. Helen was born September 2, 1943, in Syracuse, the daughter of Charles and Jessie House Nepage. She graduated from Phoenix High School in 1961. Helen was married to her husband, Austin Cowan, Sr., on February 20, 1965, and he passed away September 1, 2011. She was employed by Wise Buys in Pulaski for several years and had previously been employed by East Coast Campground in Parish. Helen enjoyed tending her bird feeders and watching the birds with her husband. She also enjoyed crocheting and knitting, making treasured blankets for her family.

      Surviving are three daughters, Michelle (Jim) Swinney of Mexico, Marlene (Chris) Peck of Boylston, and Melonie (John) Turner of Pulaski, one son, Allen (Faye) Cowan of Oswego, her brother, Jimmy House of Virginia, 16 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Helen was predeceased by her son, Austin Cowan, Jr. in 2015, and her brother Charles Nepage and sister Carrie Stroebel.
