- Patricia Anne Bush, 69, of Pulaski, NY passed away February 2, 2025 peacefully at home with her family by her side. She succumbed to a lengthy battle with Myelofibrosis, a very rare blood and bone cancer. Patti was born in Syracuse, NY, daughter of the late Robert (Buddy) and Ida May Miller (née Weber). She retired from the New York State Department of Transportation, where she worked for 25 years as a Civil Engineer in both the Construction and Traffic Safety Groups. She also proudly served 17 years as a union steward for the Public Employees Federation. Ten of those years she was the Council Leader of Division 256, the first woman to serve in that capacity. Patti cared deeply for the welfare of her fellow employees, and worked tirelessly to ensure that their rights and benefits were secure.
Patti’s favorite leisure activities were fishing with her husband on their boat, designing houses, and decorating cakes. She won numerous blue ribbons for her original cake designs, and especially enjoyed creating cakes for her family. She had many wonderful pets throughout her life, almost all of which were strays that she adopted. Patti also became an ordained minister in her final years.
Patti is survived by her loving husband, Fred, step-daughter Morgan (Shawn) David, step-daughter Kayla (Andrew) Bush, grandchildren Alyssa and Portia David, and Bryce and Lyla Watson. She also leaves behind her aunt, Connie Weber, of Phoenix, AZ, nieces Meghan (PJ) Mackay, Danielle (Tom) Campagni, and great-nieces Addison Hall and Fallon Mackay.
Funeral services will be private at the request of the family. A celebration of life will be held at a future date. In memory of Patti, the family requests that contributions be made to her favorite charity, All Creatures Big & Small Pet Rescue, P.O. Box 373, Lacona, NY 13083.
