Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, May 21, 1959 Mexico Independent - Mexico, New York - Edward M. Henderson, age 68, passed away Saturday, May 16th in the Spencer Nursing Home, where he had been a patient for the past year. Mr. Henderson was born in the town of Mexico, August 16, 1890, the son of Mrs. Edith Collins and the late George Henderson. A veteran of World War I, he spent 12 years as a guard at Selkirk Shires State Park and served Oswego County as a Deputy Sheriff for 6 years. He had been in ill health for the past six years. Surviving is his wife, Mrs. Lottie McGrath Henderson; his mother, Mrs. Collins; one brother, Bernie Henderson of Mexico; one niece and two nephews. The body was removed Sunday to the home of his mother in Texas where funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Robert E. Pennock, pastor of North Mexico Methodist Church officiated. Interment was in Daysville Cemetery. Bearers were Donald Cronk, James Bartlett, Glenn Thorpe, Harry Oney, Herschel Watson and Pitt Watson. Arrangements by the L. M. Miner Funeral Home.
