Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, May 21, 1959 Mexico Independent - Mexico, New York - Edward M. Henderson, age 68, passed away Saturday, May 16th in the Spencer Nursing Home, where he had been a patient for the past year. Mr. Henderson was born in the town of Mexico, August 16, 1890, the son of Mrs. Edith Collins and the late George Henderson. A veteran of World War I, he spent 12 years as a guard at Selkirk Shires State Park and served Oswego County as a Deputy Sheriff for 6 years. He had been in ill health for the past six years. Surviving is his wife, Mrs. Lottie McGrath Henderson; his mother, Mrs. Collins; one brother, Bernie Henderson of Mexico; one niece and two nephews. The body was removed Sunday to the home of his mother in Texas where funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Robert E. Pennock, pastor of North Mexico Methodist Church officiated. Interment was in Daysville Cemetery. Bearers were Donald Cronk, James Bartlett, Glenn Thorpe, Harry Oney, Herschel Watson and Pitt Watson.
