Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, January 26, 1978 Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Freeville - Bernie Henderson, 85, retired Oswego County Highway Department mechanic, died early Wednesday in Tompkins County Hospital at Ithaca. Born October 25, 1892 in Mexico, son of George and Edith Marsden Henderson, he had resided in the Mexico area until 1965 when he moved here. He retired in 1963 as mechanic and heavy equipment operator with the Oswego County Highway Department. He also operated a dairy farm. His wife, the former Florence Jacobs, died in 1961. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Betty) Kenyon of Freeville; two sons, Bernie G. of Oswego and Allen R. of North Syracuse, and two grandchildren. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Perkins Funeral Home in Dryden, the Rev. Thomas Kline, pastor of Freeville United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Daysville Cemetery at Port Ontario in the spring. Calling hours at the funeral home are 7 to 9 p.m. tonight.
