Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, March 16, 1961 Mexico Independent - Mexico, New York - Mrs. Bernie Henderson - Mrs. Florence Jacobs Henderson, 52, wife of Bernie Henderson of Sage Creek Drive, Town of Mexico, died in Oswego Hospital, where she had been a patient for ten days, Friday night. Mrs. Henderson, the daughter of Sidney and Isabelle Stebbins Jacobs, was born October 11, 1908 in South Crosby Township, Ontario, Canada. She was married to Mr. Henderson in 1926. She was an Oswego County Democratic Committee Member and had worked on the local election board for about 25 years. She was also a member of North Mexico Home Demonstration Unit. Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Betty) Kenyon of Freeville; two sons, P. F. C. Allen Henderson who has just returned from a U. S. Army assignment in Germany and Bernie at home; a brother, Charles S. Jacobs, Texas, and a sister, Mrs. Lloyd Young, Georgetown; also nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 13, from the Miner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert E. Pennock, pastor of Mexico Methodist Church officiating. Burial in Daysville Cemetery.
