- Newspaper Obituary - Saturday, February 5, 1977 Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Mexico - Charles E. DeLong, 53, of County Route 64, died Friday at home after a long illness. He lived here his entire life. Mr. DeLong was a dairy farmer and substitute rural mail carrier. He received an Empire Farmer Award and was a 35-year member of National Holstein Association. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Rural Letter Carriers Association. Surviving are his wife, the former Maijorie Flint; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl W. DeLong, Mexico; two sons, Earl C. of Emlenton, Pennsylvania, and Grant, Mexico; two daughters, Rebecca and Julie, at home; three grandsons and two brothers, Hadwen V. and John W., Mexico. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Harter-Olmstead Funeral Home, and burial will be in South Richland Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the McFee Ambulance Service.
