- Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, August 20, 1980 Syracuse Post Standard - Syracuse, New York - Deaths and Funerals - Mrs. Effie M. Moyer - Oneida - Mrs. Effie M. Moyer, 77, 1284 Lenox Ave, died Monday at Oneida City Hospital shortly after admission. Mrs. Moyer had been in ill health the past three months. Born Aug. 22, 1902, in Richland to Charles and Emma Eddy Colvin, she was a resident of Oneida most of her life. She married James D. Moyer in Oneida in 1925. Mrs. Moyer was a member of the Wampsville Presbyterian Church, a 50 year member of Oneida Chapter 21 of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a life member of the Wampsville PTA. She was a graduate of Oneida High School. Surviving besides her husband are: three sons, Norman H. of Oneida, Eric S. of Wayland, Mass. and Hugh D. of Lafayette; a brother, Fay Colvin of Verona; six sisters, Mrs. Ismay Morgan, Mrs. Laura Miller, Mrs. Bessie Block, Mrs. Stewart (Irene) Hubbard and Mrs. Nellie DeVaul, all of Oneida, and Mrs. Howard (Winifred) Cross of Chittenango, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Another son, James J., died in 1965. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, the Rev. Thomas Schafer offficaiting. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Merrillsville. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, 260 Main St.
