    • Newspaper Obituary - August 16, 1897 - Wilkes Barre Evening News - Sudden Death At Plymouth - Mrs. James Sprake, of Beade street, Plymouth, died quite suddenly yesterday afternoon from the bursting of a blood vessel. Deceased was a good, Christian woman and her death is a great shock to a large circle of relatives and friends. Deceased was about 58 years of age. She is survived by a husband, three daughters and two sons, Mrs. Elmer Laubaugh, Philadelphia; Mrs. George Smith, Mrs. Harry Armitage, James and Edward, of Plymouth.

      Newspaper Obituary - August 18, 1897 Wilkes-Barre Record - Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania - The funeral of Mrs. Elizabeth Sprake will take place this afternoon at 2:30 from her home on Beade Street. Services will be held at the house and Rev. T. C. McKay will officiate. Interment will be in Hanover Green Cemetery. The steamer Wilkes-Barre will leave the upper landing at 3 o'clock and will convey to the cemetery all those that desire to go.

      Newspaper Obituary - August 18, 1897 Wilkes Barre Evening News - A Plymouth Funeral - The funeral of Mrs. James Sprake occurred from her late home on Beade street this afternoon at 3 o'clock. Impressive services were conducted at the house by Rev. T. C. McKay, D. D., pastor of the Puritan Congregational Church. The floral offerings were numerous and of exquisite design. The casket containing the remains rested in the front parlor and was an elliptic end draped casket. The cortege was very large, many going by rigs and steamer. Interment was at the Hanover Green cemetery. The funeral was in charge of the undertaking firm of Moore Bros. The pass bearers were George Race, John Evans, David Davis, Thomas Stevens, E. Erwine and Enock Williams.
