- Newspaper Obituary - January 30, 2005 Post Standard - Syracuse, New York - Deon, Clarissa "Cris" - January 25, 2005 Clarissa "Cris" Deon, 53, of Waterloo, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday. Cris was born January 21, 1952 in Potsdam. She married Charles Mattison in 1969 and worked for Ames in Pulaski. She moved to Wolcott in 1989 and worked for IEC Electronics in Newark for eight years. At age 49, she received her GED and took courses at OCC in Syracuse. Chris was a valued volunteer at WCNY-TV. She was predeceased by her father Robert Deon, sister Connie Deon and niece Kayla Whitt. She is survived by her daughter Ruth Ann (Chad Meeks) Mattison; sons, Frank, George and Michael; beloved grandchildren: Nathan Mattison and Samantha and Thomas Meeks; mother Ruth Lapage Deon; brothers, Robert (Karen), Roger (Aileen), Ralph (Mary) and Jack Deon; sisters, Carol (John) Dyrot, Betty (Billy) Whitt and Sarah Felicia; companion David Huntley; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Saturday, 1 p.m., at Colvin-Robertson-Norton Funeral Home, Wolcott. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the American Heart Association.
