Charlotte V. Obleman, 81, of 12 Academy St., died Wednesday at her home after a short illness.
Mrs. Obleman was a secretary at Chase Insurance Agency, Sandy Creek, and Fuller Insurance Agency here before her retirement.
Born Oct. 25, 1916, in Mannsville, daughter of Hugh and Lottie Brown Veley, she was a 1934 graduate of Mannsville-Manor High School and a 1938 graduate of Diebert's Business School, Philadelphia.
Mrs. Obleman was a founding member of the United Friends of Homeless Animals, Pulaski, and a charter member of Cable Trail Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8534 Auxiliary.
She married Robert E. Obleman on Oct. 5, 1940, at her parents' home in Mannsville with the Rev. Miles Hutchinson of Belleville officiating. The couple had lived in Lacona for 50 years.
Surviving besides her husband are a brother, Hugh Veley Jr., Mannsville, and several nieces and nephews.
Three sisters, Blanche, Hermione and Ruth, and a brother, Corydon Veley, died before her.
A graveside service was held Saturday in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sandy Creek, with the Rev. Charles Henderson III, pastor of Zion Episcopal Church, Pierrepont Manor, officiating.
