  Newspaper Obituary - February 8, 1962 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Robert Murtha Dies Suddenly - Robert A. Murtha, 46, of Park St., died suddenly last Thursday morning while at his work at the Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. Funeral services were held Saturday at 11 a. m: at St. John the Evangelist Church with the Rev. Thomas J. Murphy the celebrant of Solemn High Mass of Requiem. He was assisted by the Rev. Richard Morrisette. Burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery in the spring. Bearers were Charles Farmer, Scott Hayward, Wilfred Wood, Norman Valley, William Wheeler, Harry Butler, Donald Edick and Edwin Warner. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Eleanor King Murtha; two sons, Robert and Brian, and a daughter, Mary Ellen, all at home; his mother, Mrs. Loretta Murtha; one brother, Francis Murtha of W. Hartford, Conn.; five sisters, Mrs. John (Rosemary) Donovan of Oswego, Mrs. James (Helen) Fitzgibbons of Latham, Mrs. Merritt (Anne) Switzer of Pulaski, Mrs. John (Agnes) King of Potsdam and Mrs. John (Roberta) Anderson of Mexico and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Murtha was born at Utica on June 16, 1915 the son of the late Amos and Loretta Shanley Murtha. He was married to Miss Eleanor King at Postdam on July 18, 1942 and had been a resident of Pulaski the past 30 years. A veteran of World War II he was a communicant of St. John's Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society, a member of the Pulaski Service Club, the P'ulaiki Rodrand Gun Club, the Sea Scout Committee and was a 25year club member of the Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. He was a planner with the Niagara Mohawk Power Corp.
