Notes - Beula S. White, age 94, resident of Pulaski and Springside at Seneca Hill retirement community, Oswego, passed away Friday at Seneca Hill Manor. Beula was born November 20, 1921 in Massena, the daughter of Myron and Eva Shirley. She moved to the Lacona area in 1931 and graduated from Sandy Creek High School in 1939. Beula received her RN from House of the Good Samaritan Nursing School in 1943. She married Jesse White on April 9, 1944 and they were married for 60 years, until his death in July 2004. Beula worked as a nurse at the Sandy Creek School District for several years, and she also worked for Cooperative Extension and was a 4-H leader for many years. Surviving are one son, Donald J. (Kathy) White of Turbotville, PA; and one daughter, Jean W. (James) Rautio of Phoenix; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Beula was predeceased by three brothers, Emery, Arnold and William Shirley. Funeral Services will be held at noon Tuesday, May 31st, at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski, with burial in Pulaski Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 10 a.m. to noon prior to the funeral. Donations may be made to Half-Shire Historical Society, Main Street, Richland, NY 13144.
