      Newspaper Obituary - Friday, October 23, 1936 Oswego Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Pulaski, October 23 - George Erskine, former resident of Fernwood, died Thursday night in the Lodge sanatorium, Syracuse road, after an illness of several years. He was 69 years old, and the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hastings Erskine. Mr. Erskine was born in Fernwood. He had always been a recluse and nature lover, and had unusually keen knowledge of birds and plants. Surviving is one sister, Mrs. Walter Loomis, Volney. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

      Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, December 21, 1898 Oswego Daily Times - Oswego, New York - South Richland, December 21 - The funeral of Mr. Hastings Erskine was held at his late home on Friday last at one p.m. After a long illness Mr. Erskine passed quietly away on Wednesday last. Much sympathy is felt for the wife and children.
