Newspaper Obituary - Monday, January 20, 1941 Oswego Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Mexico, January 20 - Mrs. Merry Schumaker, 58, died at her home at Arthur, Saturday evening, after an illness of several months. She was born in Orwell, October 8, 1882, daughter of the late Egbert and Maggie Penny Rowe. She was a member of the North Mexico Methodist church. Survivors include her husband, Lewis Schumaker; four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Butler, Mannsville, Mrs. Paul Gill, Mexico, Miss Rita Schumaker, Rochester, Mrs. Ellen Edwards, Adams; three sons, George Schumaker, Rochester, William Schumaker, Mexico, and Lewis Schumaker, Jr., Adams; three sisters, Mrs. George Denny, Arthur, Mrs. Etta Schumaker, Belleville, Mrs. Maggie Marriott, Lowville; one brother, George Rowe, Mannsville; 29 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon, at 2 o'clock at the home, conducted by the Rev. Spencer Ray Cody, pastor of New Haven Methodist church. Burial will be in Daysville cemetery. Those who will act as bearers are Clarence Morton, Pitt Watson, Herschel Watson and Ward Rose.
