Newspaper Obituary - Thursday August 27, 1885 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Mr. Orrill Hungerford was born in the town of Old Hartford, Connecticut, June 15, 1798, and died at Daysville, New York, August 11, 1885. He moved to Richland at the age of 18 when the country was a wilderness. He was a hard working man all his days, having cleared with his own hands many acres of forest land. He provided a good home and accumulated a fair property in early life and became an active member of the M. E. church. He was a great lover of the Bible, and through all his years retained a clear evidence of a glorious immorality. His funeral was attended from the church at Daysville by a large number of relatives and many friends. He leaves a wife, six children, several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to mourn his death, and we trust to follow his righteous example and meet him in heaven.
[Note: It took family members over 21 years and a court battle in 1906, to have his estate finally settled.]
