    • Syreal Carpenter Chaumont, Aug. 4. Word was received here last night of the death of Syreal Carpenter of St. Lawrence, which occurred at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Joseph Pecor, at Clayton at 5:30 Wednesday morning. The funeral will be held today at Clayton and the interment was made there. Mr. Carpenter went to Clayton two weeks ago to obtain medical treatment. He had been ill for several months and his death was not unexpected. His sons, Simon and William, of Ridgeway, Pa., arrived at Clayton yesterday. Mr. Carpenter was 69 years of age.
