Aldwin W. Rice Obituary
Aldwin W. Rice, age 88, resident of Pulaski passed away, Monday, at Oswego Hospital. Aldwin was born April 24, 1937, in West Rupert, Vermont, the son of L. Wayne and N. Grace Hurley Rice and spent his childhood on a dairy farm. He graduated from Pulaski High School in 1955. Aldwin was married to his wife, Viva M. Letterman Rice on May 30, 1959. Aldwin worked many years for GE and Harris Corp. Upon retirement he opened Ringgold Auto Service in Pulaski in 1993.
Aldwin was a charter member of Salmon River Youth Hockey. He was involved in many capacities including over 30-years as a coach. He was an avid fan of the Montreal Canadiens.
If it was needed, Dad could build it.
If it was broken, Dad could fix it.
If there was a problem, Dad could solve it.
Surviving, are his wife of 66-years, Viva of Pulaski, children, Robert Rice of Pulaski, daughter, Paula (Joseph) Harris of Pulaski, Paul (Deborah) Stone of Wake Forest, NC, eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Aldwin was predeceased by his parents, a brother Darwin, sons, Alan and Daniel and granddaughter Emily.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Monday, November 10th at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski with burial in South Richland Cemetery, Fernwood. Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., prior to the funeral.
