Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, March 13, 1947 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Mrs. Averill Dies at Cortland - Mrs. Birdella Averill, 85, widow of the late William Averill, died Saturday night at the home of her grandson, Jack Leroy, 4 Monroe Heights, Cortland. She was born at Williamstown, New York, April 13, 1862, the daughter of Solomon and Samantha Burhman McGee. She spent most of her married life in Richland and eight years ago went to Cortland to live with her grandson. Surviving besides the grandson is a daughter, Mrs. Darwin Hulse of Syracuse, and a granddaughter, Mrs. Keith Mattison, Rochester. She was a member of the Pulaski Order of the Eastern Star. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Foster funeral home with the Rev. Pauley of the Methodist church officiating. The body was placed in the Pulaski vault and burial will be made in the family plot at Richland in the spring.
