- Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, September 24, 1868 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Died - At South Richland, September 2, 1868, Mr. E. Warner in the 78th year of his age. Father Warner's long life was a struggle for his right, "and God was his Captain." We, his relatives, friends and neighbors, who often sat pleasantly by his fireside, were so deeply impressed with his excellences that his death seems peculiar, strange, like unexpected winter stillness settling on these still bright fields of glorious September. More than 60 years of trying, waiting, hoping and trusting prominently fitted him for the Haven sorrows the melancholy was the Haven he has reached at last. We do not think of him is dead. We never shall. In the evening and the morning is still alive, immortal.
