- Newspaper Obituary - January 25, 1945 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Mrs. Emma Whitford, 78, widow of William Whitford, died Monday afternoon after an illness of several weeks. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon from the Foster funeral home with Rev. W.A. Gardner officiating. Mrs. Whitford was born Oct. 21, 1866, in Scriba, daughter of Eben and Eliza Howard Sanderson. She was married to Mr. Whitford on Feb. 17, 1884. For many years the couple lived on a farm north of Pulaski on the Watertown road. Since he died several years ago, she has resided in the vicinity of Pulaski, having lived in her present home on the Richland road only a short time. Mrs. Whitford was a member of Pulaski grange. She is survived by one son, Howard P. Whitford of Pulaski; five brothers, David, Harrison and Frank Sanderson of Pulaski, Bert and William Sanderson of Syracuse; three grandchildren and four great-grand-children. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery, Sandy Creek.
