Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, April 2, 1919 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Mrs. Illinia E. Meacham - Hardly had the community come to realize there was immediate danger of death calling Mrs. Meacham when the word came out from the home, last Thursday, about nine o'clock, that she had passed away. Illinia E. Meacham was born in Peoria, Illinois, May 20, 1855. She was daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Chauncey C. Woods, of that city, who were natives of this village. As was stated in the sketch accompanying this memorial, she became the wife of Thomas S. Meacham in 1888 and came to Pulaski to reside. During her life here she made many friends and by her mild and pleasing manner always found a responsive and congenial attitude from those whom she took into her intimate acquaintance. Her home life was characterized by a devotion to her faithful husband which made the happiness of their home complete. So far as her strength permitted she was actively interested in the things which made for the good of the community. She took special interest in the work of the Civic Club and during the activities of the Red Cross, until her health began to fail she was a willing supporter of the work and the funds needed to carry it on. Mrs. Meacham is survived by four brothers and two sisters who are Mr. John C. Woods. Gilbert Woods, Charles H. Woods and Chauncey C. Woods, all of Peoria, Illinois, and Mrs. G. F. Pierce. of Brooklyn and Mrs. M. D. Budd, of Peoria.
