      Kenney Lee LaRue, 67, of Sandy Creek passed away peacefully surrounded by his family
      on November 11, 2023. He was a beloved father, husband, brother and friend who will be deeply
      missed by all who knew him.
      Ken was born on July 31, 1956 and was the son of Willard and Virginia (Wilcox) LaRue. Ken was
      the youngest of his siblings, Patsy (William) Landers, Michael Martin, Trudy (Louis) Moyer, Wes
      (Brenda) LaRue, Ken was a 1975 graduate and longtime resident of Sandy Creek. He had a long
      career in the fire department, where he served as Chief of Lacona and Assistant Chief of Sandy
      Creek and devoted over 40 years as a fireman. Ken then later became Deputy Mayor of Sandy
      Creek. Throughout his career, he was known for his hard work, dedication, and passion for
      helping others.
      But more than anything, Ken was a devoted husband to his wife Lori LaRue (Miller) and father to
      their kids. He loved spending time with his children, sharing stories, hunting, fishing, and
      camping. He was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what
      challenges they faced.
      Ken is survived by his loving wife, Lori, and their children, Randy, Chet (Tiffany), Shylo, Korey,
      Adyme (William), Hillary (Joshua), Joshua (Brittany) and his grandchildren, Devyn, Aubri, Dillion,
      Hayli, Kylie, Brady, Chase, Zander, Corbin, Zoie, McKenley Isabella, Lydia, Emily, and Jonah. He
      also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. His memory will be cherished by all who knew
      him.
      A celebration of life will be held for family and friends Saturday November 18 th , 2023 1-9pm at
      the Sandy Creek Fire Department. A short Memorial service will be held at 1pm. In lieu of
      flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Sandy Creek Fire Department.
