Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, October 16, 1918 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Fernwood - Your correspondent is in a query to know how to report the condition of our little town, so many sick, almost in every home. One day we could report favorable, the next our hopes are blighted. On Friday, at one o'clock, occurred the death of Mr. Lewen Jackson. Lewen had but recently volunteered his services and life, if need be, to his country. On the evening of the 4th his friends made him a party, one week from that day he heard the roll call from the Great Commander. Lewen was a member of the Baptist church and Sunday school of Fernwood. He leaves to mourn his death a sister and brother, Catherine and William Jackson, both of Fernwood. Interment was made in Willis cemetery.
