- Newspaper Obituary - March 18, 1948 Pulaski Democrat - Services Held For Mrs. Louesa Chawgo, 89 - Mrs. Louesa Chawgo, 89, widow of the late Edward Chawgo, died Wednesday night at her home on the Syracuse road about one mile south of the village, after a serious illness of only a few days. Funeral services were held at the Foster funeral home in Park street, Sunday, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. James N. Pauley officiating. The body will be placed in the vault to await burial in Sandy Creek in the spring. Mrs. Chawgo was born in the town of Richland, April 30, 1859, the daughter of Peter and Lydia Orton Coon. She had always lived in or near Pulaski. She is survived by a daughter, Miss Hattie Chawgo, a son, James Chawgo, both of Pulaski, and a brother, Frank Coon of Syracuse. There are also five step-grandchildren in Watertown, Mrs. Walter O'Connor, Mrs. Lena Holliday, Mrs. Henry DeWolf, and Carl and George Chawgo.
