      NEWARK-Born February 12, 1927, Margueritte F. Mere passed on to join the Lord on Saturday, April 28, 2012. She had resided at DeMay Living Center since October 10, 2010.

      Margueritte was born in Massena, NY and later moved to Hudson, Florida and then to Newark, NY.

      She was predeceased by her parents Walter and Sarah Michaud Rogers and by her most cherished husband, Armond E.J. Mere, who died on May 15, 2004. They had celebrated 57 years of marriage. She was known for helping her husband build several houses in Massena and in Newark. Her passion was her love of her family and especially for her grandchildren.

      Surviving are a daughter, Marlene Mere Donk of Newark, NY; granddaughter, Christine Donk Stalker (Jeffrey) of Newark and three great grandchildren; Emma, Nicholas and Jacob Stalker. Her sisters include Ethel Deblen (Leo) of Massena, NY and Elizabeth Snickles (Charles) of Saratoga Springs, NY. Sisters-in-law are Margaret Brodeur, Richland, NY; Alice Brodeur, Richland, NY; Yvette Ploof, Chase Mills, NY ; and Margaret Mere, Norwood, NY. Several nieces and nephews.

      She was predeceased by two brothers, Walter Rogers, Jr. and George Rogers.

      Calling hours will be 4-7 PM on Monday, May 7th at Phillips Memorial Home at 64 Andrews Street in Massena. A noon Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church with Father Donald Manfred officiating on Tuesday, May 8th. A reception will follow.
